Plans for Productions
| 2006 |
The Wordbeats Series. After its success in November 2002, Wordbeats poetry performances will now become an annual event. In March, 2004, we have news artists, new poets, including young people who would graduate from our workshops, and a story-telling portion with the didgeridoo. |
| 2007 |
Alitaptap re-make. After its success in Durban, South Africa in 2001, Alitaptap has been performed in many variations in Filipino events in Switzerland. In March, 2005, this dance-drama will travel to the Philippines for the PETA International Theater Festival.
Balik-ALAMAT ("Back to Our Legends"). This is an original play to be written by Edessa Ramos, inspired by an award-winning play written by PETA artist Rody Vera in 1992. The original ALAMAT play premiered in Chicago in 1993 in celebration of the UN Year of Indigenous Peoples. "Back to Our Legends" is the story of a young Filipina-Swiss in search of her roots, who later discovers her connection to the tragic history of her indigenous ancestors. A journey into the rich culture of the Filipino indigenous peoples and a young girl's search for identity. Dances, legends, music. (English)

| Later Years |
A BRIDGES original. This production is, at the moment, still a dream. We hope to tell the story of Swiss adventurers in 18th century Philippines. We hope this project can be a collaboration among Filipino and Swiss writers, directors, actors and designers. (German and Tagalog)
Children's theater, a project still in the conceptual stages. We plan to build cultural bridges for our children. A translation of Filipino and Asian fairy tales will be made into Schweizer Dütsch. |
 |
Other dream projects for the future:
- stage Jose Rizal's Tagalog translation of William Tell,
- hold multi-cultural workshops in writing, theater, gender sensitivity, and healing through creativity,
- publish an anthology of Swiss-Filipino writings.
